Burnout Paradise is a 2008 open-world racing video game developed by Criterion Games and published by Electronic Arts for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Microsoft Windows. It was also released on the PlayStation Store and through Games on Demand on the Xbox Live Marketplace.
It was later added to the Greatest Hits and Platinum Hits libraries and was backwards compatible with Xbox One in November 2016. It is the first game in the Burnout series to be released on Microsoft Windows.
Paradise takes place in the fictional "Paradise City", an open world where players can compete in several types of races. Players can also compete online, which includes other game modes such as "Cops and Robbers". Several free updates to the game bring new features such as a daily cycle and motorcycles.
In 2008, the game won several awards, all awarded Best Driving Game by Spike TV, GameTrailers, and GameSpot. Reviewers felt the game had an excellent sense of speed and praised the open-world gameplay, a first in the Burnout series. Burnout Paradise is one of my favourite racing game, I have ever played.
